Biography
Dr. Park was born in South Korea and immigrated to the United States at the age of 3. She grew up in Colorado, graduating from the University of Denver with a B.A. in psychology and sociology. She completed her master’s and doctoral studies in Southern California at Biola University, Rosemead School of Psychology, an APA accredited program. After finishing her coursework, she went across the country to New York where she completed her doctoral internship at Manhattan Psychiatric Center, an inpatient psychiatric hospital. During that year, she worked extensively with individuals suffering from severe mental illness, co-morbid disorders, and personality disorders by providing them with individual and group psychotherapy as well as conducting cognitive and personality assessments. After receiving her doctorate degree in 2017, she moved back to CO, where she started her practice in 2018, Park Psychotherapy.
My Approach
"Coming to therapy means you are interested and invested in developing insight and awareness into who you are, your patterns, thoughts, and feelings, and how they coincide with the emotional pain you have been holding onto and are experiencing currently. Psychotherapy is designed to help you form a healthier relationship with yourself and with others, but it starts by looking at your own internal world and shedding light on your own experiences. I firmly believe that anyone can benefit from growing and learning whether you are hurting, high-achieving, or dealing with intense emotions.
My goals are to help you create congruence between what you show publicly and how you feel privately and to help you explore the deeper parts of yourself that you may or may not be aware of. "
