Biography

Jung In is a first generation Korean American immigrant who completed her bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Counseling Psychology in Korea. She then earned her master's and doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology in the U.S. As a clinical psychologist, Jung In currently provides counseling to clients of various backgrounds in Colorado. Based on her background in clinical psychology, Jung In provides therapy to clients varying in age (children, adolescents, adults, and married couples), to address depression, anxiety/panic disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, and ADHD. She also provides therapy to address past wounds/trauma, family difficulty, and interpersonal relationship issues.

My Approach

My therapeutic approach is to focus on the here-and-now as well as processing through the root of the issue. One can experience freedom when they truly understand themselves. I believe in the importance of problem solving, but I also believe that the therapeutic effects will be long lasting when the root and cause are properly processed through. My job is to aid my clients with their internal growth, thereby allowing them to make decisions for themselves. Think of it as developing your muscles through physical exercise, but in terms of mental health.

Oftentimes, my Korean American clients seek out therapy after their symptoms have severely exacerbated due to delaying seeking mental healthcare. This delay is often due to prejudice and negative stereotypes towards mental health and therapy. My desire is that seeking mental healthcare would become as natural as going to a physician for physical ailments. I hope to not only partake in one's discovery of the 'healthy self', but also to comfort those who had limited opportunities for counseling due to language barriers.
