All-Day Conferences

Workshops & Seminars

We provide 1-2 day conferences nationwide that are intentionally designed to open conversations relevant to Korean Americans as multicultural members of the American society.

At MSG, we are fully aware that what Korean Americans go through is unique and requires attention that is culturally specific. Oftentimes, the experiences of Korean Americans are not discussed in the mainstream culture or in the day-to-day life at school, work, or church. We partner with local churches and organizations who want to help impact their community and work alongside local Korean American mental health professionals who lead workshops and connect with families and church leaders.

We also offers shorter one-day workshops where we teach how to address and approach important mental health topics.

Our workshops are often geared towards students and parents and are more interactive in format. They are usually 1.5 - 3 hours long with a keynote speaker, and are designed to foster open conversations about the unique multicultural experiences that Korean Americans may navigate. These workshops can be hosted by a church, school, or any organization that wants to learn about a specific topic together. Some topics may include navigating cultural differences, fostering open communication, and learning skills such as active listening.

We build our programming upon two foundational ideas:

  1. We nurture strong ethnic group identification by creating bilingual and bicultural spaces that are uniquely designed for Korean American families.

  2. We foster strong family cohesion and parental support by discussing different generational experiences, unknown stressors on immigrant families, as well as the communication skills needed to foster healthy relationships between parents and children.

“I learned how important it is to be spiritually healthy and what it looks like to actually integrate mental health and wellness with faith.”

"The Let’s Talk conference was an eye opening experience because I've never been to something like this before. As a 2nd gen Korean American, I could relate so much to the cultural differences mentioned. These things are important in a Korean household in America that we may know but don't think about deeply or find it necessary to share.”

"[Through the conference], it helped me understand cultural differences. We were just thinking that the American lifestyle would be a better opportunity for our child - we didn’t realize he could be struggling.”
