Biography

As a licensed mental health counselor and a registered art therapist, I am passionate about utilizing art as a tool in treatment to nurture and validate the emotional experience of my clients. I have found art therapy to be especially effective when working through trauma. I have a heart for children and have extensive experience working with children and teens across the developmental spectrum through a wide array of therapeutic modalities, including art and play therapy.

My Approach

I find joy in working with traditionally underserved populations and gradually building a secure therapeutic relationship built on validation, openness, and shared human experience. I have provided counseling and art therapy services within inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient services, community-based programs, and schools.

As an immigrant from South Korea, I approach my work with a deep understanding around racial issues. I feel comfortable supporting clients around processing their own experience and building trusting relationships with those they care about.
