Biography
Dr. Lee's areas of expertise include play therapy, adolescent counseling, individual/group counseling with adults, and parent-child relationship training. She has extensive clinical experiences with depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, abuse, grief/loss, divorce, emotional disturbances, and adjustment issues. She has worked in various settings (universities/graduate schools, school clinics, and private practices) as a professor/counselor/supervisor both in the U.S. and South Korea. As a bilingual, she understands Korean and American cultures, and is passionate about equipping future counselors both in the States and South Korea.
My Approach
I believe that Jesus is the ultimate healer, and as a counselor, I am a tool that is equipped to help individuals and families in need. My approach on counseling consists of two steps. First, I assist you in confronting problems you are afraid to face on your own. Problems and difficulties are a part of life, but they become serious when you avoid facing them and become oblivious to the extent of the issue. I understand how scary the process of uncovering them can be. I will walk right alongside you on this bumpy journey to help you recover your glad heart. The second step is to equip clients to become helping hands as lay people. This process is done through our equipping center and its programs. I have a strong passion to see a discouraged client becomes an empowered individual, promoting restoration in others. Even though it may take a while to get to this point, I have seen the power of transformation. One's striving for growth brings about waves of healing in families and communities. I have a magnet that says, "Turn your scar into star." I believe that this is possible when you are equipped to do so, making this journey worth the wait.
