Roy Kim

Roy Kim, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist based in Southern California, specializing in work with adults impacted by sexual addiction. As a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and former pastor in Korean American churches, Roy works somewhere in the messy intersection of faith, mental health, and relational trauma. Drawing from both clinical training and pastoral experience, he sees himself as a broker between the Church, the addict, the betrayed partner, and the divorced—working to foster healing and reconciliation across traditionally divided spaces.

Roy is also the host of SA Speakeasy, a podcast that breaks the silence around sexual addiction, and The Same Boat, a space where stories of broken hearts and deep shame are shared in the hope of communal healing. Roy loves co-leading a DivorceCare ministry with his lovely wife and finds deep satisfaction in being a stepdad.

His decision to join the board of Mustard Seed Generation stems from a deep admiration for the organization’s leadership—individuals who embody a beautiful humility, choosing to leverage their education, positions, and giftedness not as trophies to display, but as tools to uplift and empower Korean American communities. He is honored to support MSG’s mission of healing and transformation.
